Understanding SSNIT contributions for employers

As an employer in Ghana, contributing to SSNIT for your staff is both a legal requirement and an important benefit. Here are the essentials.

The two tiers

Contributions are split between a first tier managed by SSNIT and a second tier managed by a private trustee. Both are calculated on employee salaries and must be remitted on time.

Employer and employee shares

The total contribution is shared between employer and employee, with the employer responsible for deducting the employee portion and remitting the full amount.

Deadlines and records

Remit contributions monthly and keep accurate records for each employee. Late or missed payments create liabilities and affect the benefits your staff are entitled to.

Getting it right

Accurate payroll is the foundation. We calculate and remit both tiers correctly so your team is protected and your business stays compliant.
